April Club Activities

April Club Meeting

A normal meeting night at Oxford Municipal building. We have a good turnout of guys that fly anything from Sailplanes to 3D to Heli's so come and join us. The meetings are kept as short as Ken can so we can do show-and-tell.
Roger is wearing one of our new jackets that Dave Corven coordinated for us this year. Really cool.
New guy Nicolas Orand presenting some material for review.
Dave Corven's electric Aeromaster that he hopes will be flying this summer. He will be testing the Mustang at RCCD's field on May 3rd if all goes well with the weather.
Another view of the Aeromaster with a scale ship Iafret has for sale. Picked up several at the Toledo show this year.

Gerry Graye with his new Vista sailplane, it is a real deal from Tower Hobbies. You could not buy the materials for build it for what they are selling this ARF.

Take a good look at Hutch'e IFO landing gear. Seems he lost a wheel at the soccer area and had to make do with an old gas power ship wheel, a toothpick axle and duct tape to hold it together. Hutch is a fantastic builder.
To keep the record straight, I did the wheel thing to Hutch as a joke on his building skills. I flew his plane this winter while he was in Florida. It is still in one piece even though I tried to smash it up a few times, that carbon frame is really tough.

The Toledo Show

As I have for the last several years, I have worked the Kennedy Composites booth with Dave Corven of our club along with Barry and Karen. This year was special in the way of models presented in the show. It was a great year for craftsmanship and I will stick in a few of the hundred or so shots I took. These are some of the planes that I felt would be class winners and the ones shown here indeed did win some award. I will not make comments on these so just enjoy the view.

John Dinez of Horizon Hobbies showing off his Sprite 2M sailplane. It is obviously a plane Barry is selling. John is a great builder and crackerjack pilot. He flies everything and does it well.
Dave Corven's E-Mustang. He will put it in the air soon as the weather is breaking.
The first successful R/C ship I remember. Our club in New Castle PA had a couple of these in the hands of the then "old guys". Now I are one!

Best of Show and Best Monocoat

This great looking couple are from China and were here to look for dealers for the products they design and manufacture.

Barry and I bought some of the stuff they had here for the show so we could look it over carefully and fly it to see if Barry wants to be an importer.

The scale sailplanes are a true bargain and fairly well made for slope or aerotow.

Barry and I in a photo-op while we were closing up shop to go home. It was four tough days of work and play.
