The winners from left to right: Jack 1st, Hutch 2nd, Wolf 3rd, Ken 4th,
Rick 5th, Ray (out flying) 6th, and Roger 7th. Mike Wade flew a couple
of rounds and had to leave and at that time Ken showed up and took over
his score to finish the contest. Glad this does not go into the club
rankings to screw up the club scorekeeper. |
 |
John White, Ray Milio and Jack Iafret setting up the high-starts for the
contest. They were made much shorter to fit into the mowed area of the
field- only about 40 feet of string on 100 foot bungee. Hutch not shown
here did a yeoman's job of field prep. |
 |
Ray Milio said his legs were getting shorter with all the walking. What
happened to the winches with the retrievers??? Ray and Hutch helped
all day long, it was hot and tiring but better than doing yard work. |
 |
Hutch playing with "Piper", Greg's 10 year old puppy. Greg did not fly
today as he is so busy at work protecting my pension he does not have
time to build a "beer cooler". Keep up the good work Greg, I really
appreciate it. |

This is the plane we selected for our One-Design contest, it is the
Multiplex Easy Glider. A great plane for the price and an excellent
flyer if it trimmed out correctly and flown with gentle inputs. Nice
trainer as well. The club has about 20 in and seven of them flew today
(eight with Mike's). |

Tom Laclave (AKA - Tree Top Tom) inspecting the damage to his trainer on
a winch launch training exercise. Our winches are brutal if you are not
easy on the peddle. Not much damage and Tom will be in the air with a
couple of hours of repair. |
 |
Ken's hanger, what is a foamie 3D ship doing sitting with a pure breed
sailplane? Actually we fly light electrics in no wind conditions between
rounds of sailplaning. It keeps the left hand sharp. |

The ORF club taking a break from all that tiring flying. Well, someone
has to do it. |
