We are still in the
throws of winter but it will break soon and we can get the sailplanes
out again. Until then, we still thankfully have the "Dome" and "Club
Meetings". The last meeting was a stand only attendance so we must be
doing something right.
Wolf is really into electric motors. He is now developing a two-motor
counter-rotating prop system without needing a hollow shaft. Really cool
workout Wolf.
Here is the close-up of the system.
Wolf explaining the workings to Rob Hair (one of my heli flying
friends).
Dennis Kozak watching Barney fly his own design foamie. It takes a lot
of concentration to fly in close quarters.
Corven explaining why his motor is not in the plane. OOP's.
Not sure if Jack thinks he can make new foamies this way or not. Go see
him at the Prop Shop where he works part time.
Rick and John closing up for the day. It is off to the restaurant for
lunch.
Mike Wade trying to help Wolf understand 2.4 equipment.
Corven detailing the "Beer Cooler" contest and Belger not sure he
believes it.
I am holding the Extra 350 from Kennedy Composites- Fantastically light
and well built ARF.
Power is a Potensky 200 and power will be a 3 cell
LiPo 800 mah.
Barney with his Dallaire that has been around for many years and was
originally powered by a 0.19 fuel burner. The plane is getting an update
to an outrunner and new skin.
Another shot of the Dallaire
Wolf, Bob Bityk and Bill Jarski discussing what motor to use.
Ken Rogus and Tom Laclave are admiring the laminated stab built by Bob
Belger for his Dallaire Truly a work of art.
This meeting was standing room only. It is very satisfying to see such a
nice turnout.
